Meet Felicia Jackson of CPRWrap

What inspired you to start your own business?

I never dreamed of becoming a business owner but life has a way of changing your direction. It was not until after I almost lost my baby to a choking incident, I was able to invent a product that could possibly save lives around the world. I knew at that moment this was bigger than me and my life as an entrepreneur began.

What sets your business apart from everyone else?

I always tell people I am my brand and my brand is me because when you create something from the depths of love and purpose, you create something that’s unlike what’s been done before. CPRWrap is a social impact brand that has a specific mission to empower every man, woman and child to do the most basic, unselfish thing a human can do… Save a Life!

Why do you love what you do?

I love what I do because every day I am pushed beyond whatever limits I thought I had and I get to overcome those obstacles to not only grow my business but grow as an entrepreneur as well.

What has been your biggest success to date?

Our biggest success to date is being granted our Utility Patent for CPRWrap by the USPTO! I now stand alongside the many notable Black inventors I have so often read about.

What is another Nashville small business or organization you are inspired by?

I am inspired by Aireka Harvell, Founder of Nodat, a Nashville-based deals app. Look up the words hustle and determination and you will see her picture. I love watching her journey.

What’s your best advice for someone who wants to start their own business?

My advice for anyone looking to start a business is to start building your circle of allies. There will be times you will need advice and direction, times you will need cheerleaders, times you will need someone to just listen, and times you will need someone to pick you up when you just want to give up. You may have started this journey on your own but in order to succeed you will need help.
